Comprehensive Contact Lens Fittings & Exams

A precise contact lens fitting is essential for comfort, clarity, and eye health. During your contact lens exam, our team will:

  • Evaluate your eye health to determine if contact lenses are a good option.
  • Measure your corneal shape and curvature to ensure the best lens fit.
  • Assess your tear film quality to select lenses that won’t cause dryness or irritation.
  • Determine your prescription for sharp, clear vision at all distances.

After your fitting, we provide trial lenses, allowing you to test different options for comfort and clarity before making a final decision.

Can I sleep in my contact lenses?

Sleeping in most contact lenses is not recommended because it reduces the amount of oxygen that reaches your eyes. When your eyes are closed for hours, standard contact lenses can trap debris and bacteria, increasing the risk of irritation, infection, and corneal damage. Even occasional naps in regular lenses can lead to redness or dryness the next day.

Overnight contact lenses, however, are different. These are contact lenses that you can sleep in, because they're made from highly breathable materials that allow much more oxygen to pass through to the eye. Because of this higher oxygen flow, overnight contact lenses are designed to be worn safely while you sleep, but only when they are specifically prescribed and monitored by your eye doctor. Not everyone is a candidate, so a proper exam and follow up care are essential before wearing lenses overnight.

Sports Contacts and Tinted Contact Lenses

Sports contact lenses are designed to stay stable during quick movements, helping athletes maintain clear vision without the shifting or fogging that can happen with glasses. They provide a wider field of view and work well for activities like basketball, soccer, running, and other high movement sports.

Tinted contact lenses offer an added benefit by enhancing contrast and reducing glare in certain environments, which can be helpful for outdoor sports or bright conditions. Some tints are purely cosmetic, while others are designed to improve visual comfort and performance. An eye doctor can help determine which sports contacts or tinted contact lenses are best for your activity, prescription, and eye health needs.
